Book Now In partnership with Bord Bia Irish Food Board, Hong Kong-born and Ireland-raised celebrity Chef Kwanghi Chan will pop-up at Test Kitchen from 4-6 December. Chef Kwanghi was a finalist in the FOOD & Wine Magazine awards for “Best Startup in Ireland 2019” and finalist for the All Ireland Restaurant Awards “Best Newcomer 2019”. Chef Kwanghi has also represented Ireland in various international culinary competitions, including the Germany Culinary Olympics, where he was awarded a silver medal in 2008. In 2014 he was awarded Lauréat of “Le Grand Prix de Cuisine” from de L’Academie De France, Paris after being judged by 25 MOF Chefs in an 8-hour international cooking Competition with 23 countries. In this upcoming Irish popup series in TEST KITCHEN, Guests can expect a eight-course feast of contemporary Irish cuisine with hints of Hong Kong, made with a blend of imported Irish and locally-sourced ingredients.
The plentiful eight-course menu will feature the best of the Irish land and sea. Dishes such as Irish Oyster with cucumber juice, bonito, flakes, ponzu and citrus fruit act as a refreshing introduction to the talented Chef’s unique style, while heartier dishes like Irish Lamb Rack and Irish Beef showcase premium Irish meats.

About Chef Kwanghi Chan (Ireland/Hong Kong):
Kwanghi Chan was born in Hong Kong 1977 and moved to Buncrana, Co Donegal at the age of eight. Working up through the ranks, learning from the best chefs and Restaurants in Ireland, while gaining a BSE Degree in Culinary Arts From “TVU LONDON”, in 2011, he became Head Chef at the 1* Michelin starred Cliff House Hotel restaurant in Ardmore, Co Waterford and in 2015, took on the role of director of Soder+Ko in Dublin. In 2016 After launching his own range of brand, ChanChan, Household spice and sauce condiments, which has retail distribution in more than 850 stores in Ireland. He recently opened Bowls by Kwanghi as a scalable module for fast casual modern Asian flavours, on Marlborough Street in Dublin.
He is now on the judging panel for the Euro-Toques Ireland “Young Chef of the Year” were he selects the upcoming talent of the future of young chefs in Ireland. Kwanghi also makes regular TV appearance cooking on Virgin media Television in Ireland for the past 5 years on a primetime show called “Six O Clock Show“.
